Lateral bought to Australia Laurance Feraud, of Domaine du Pegau, Châteauneuf-du-Pape, one of France’s foremost winemakers. Three of the top wines in the world come from Châteauneuf-du-Pape, including Laurance’s own Châteauneuf-du-Pape Cuvée Réservée 2004.
At wine dinners across Australia, exclusively for Lateral’s clients, guests took a journey to discover the wines, the history, the culture and the special terrain of Châteauneuf-du-Pape that makes this wine growing region one of the best in France.
Vines were first planted in Châteauneuf-du-Pape by the popes who abandoned Rome and made their base in Avignon, in the first part of the 14th century. The ruined castle at the summit of the village of Châteauneuf-du-Pape was the papal holiday home.
Later in 2009, Lateral will be bringing one of Italy’s foremost wine makers from Tuscany to host exclusive wine dinners in Australia and New Zealand.
