To create an event designed to provide wine enthusiasts with unique access to some of the best wines in the world, Lateral searched the cellars of France for the best vintages of the best examples of each of the French wine styles that have developed over the past several hundred years.
With exclusive use of some of the best restaurants across Australia, the French Wine Revolution Dinners featured the French wines in comparison with New World interpretations. For example, a White Burgundy up against Australia's Leeuwin Estate Art Series Chardonnay, and Guigal Cote Rotie, Ch D'Ampuis 2001 compared in parallel with Penfolds Grange and the emerging Kilikanoon Oracle Shiraz.
Lateral's wine expert provided an insight into the history of the regions as well as commentary on the wines, their nuances, and the intricacies of the various styles of wine making.
The chefs were provided with samples of the wines in advance to enable them to correctly match the specially prepared dishes.
The French Wine Revolution Dinners provided a unique experience at renowned restaurants at which the relationships between the event hosts and their guests could flourish.
